Ariff Shamji

Founder and Managing Director
AAA Growers Ltd.

Ariff Shamji is the founder and Managing Director of AAA Growers Ltd, an award winning horticulture business based in Nairobi, Kenya. AAA Growers was initially established in conjunction with the commercial lending arm of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and today is one of the largest Kenyan exporters of fresh produce to the UK and other European markets, employing over 2,500 people across three geographic regions in Central Kenya.

Mr. Shamji is a third generation Asian of East African origin. He comes from a family of serial entrepreneurs that has successfully founded and managed a broad range of businesses throughout Kenya since the early 1900's, including civil engineering, construction, automotive dealerships, trading and mining.

Mr. Shamji is a non executive director of A Jiwa Shamji Ltd (AJS), the holding company for various of the businesses in which the Shamji's are involved. Prior to founding AAA Growers, Mr. Shamji worked for several years with AJS, including in trading and construction.

Mr. Shamji received his bachelors degree from Boston University School of Management, where he specialized in International Management and Finance, and acquired his primarily and secondary education in Nairobi, Kenya.
