Abimbola Carrol is the founder of Visit Sierra Leone which is an online travel information resource for Sierra Leone. It was set up by Abimbola in 2004 in London where he had resided since 1997. His driving force is a strong desire to show a more positive side of Sierra Leone which he has continuously done since he set up Visit Sierra Leone. He continues to get involved in activities which he believes are true to this cause. In 2005, he took part in a documentary for BBC World which explored the Tourism potential and challenges for Sierra Leone and later formed the basis of Dfid’s “Back in Business” Investment promotion video for Sierra Leone. He was recently featured in the in-flight magazine “B-Spirit” where he talked about Visit Sierra Leone’s Tour Operating business.

With his educational background in IT and Marketing, he also runs Otolo Web Solutions and IT firm with a main focus on enabling Sierra Leonean companies to get an effective web presence.

As a founder member of SLDN, Abimbola was involved in the planning of, and took part in, the March 2006 Investment forum in Sierra Leone; The first such forum to take place in that country after a 10 year conflict. Following frequent breaks back to Sierra Leone, Abimbola returned home in December 2007 to continue the development of Visit Sierra Leone as an Inbound Tour Operator Company in Sierra Leone.
