Richard’s background is mainly in insurance and risk management and worked in the past with Norwich Union and broking giants like Aon and Miller Insurance Group placing and servicing corporate risks for blue chip and small to medium sized companies. His specialism is in Liabilities, Professional Indemnity, Business Interruption, Property Risks and risks for Clinical Trials and Cyber related liabilities. Currently Richard heads a group of associates helping small to medium sized businesses in starting up, drafting business plans and raising funds. The group recognize that one area of society that find themselves neglected or at a disadvantage when it comes to finding funding or investment for their business tends to the Black Minority Ethnic community and as such are keen to provide them with the extra help that can be the difference between a failing and a flourishing business.  With strong links to banks and enterprise agencies, Richard is not only a business advisor, but a seasoned and experienced business owner himself. As owner of a risk and management consultancy, Richard knows the harsh realities of running a business and brings practical experience to the table. Richard and his associates have raised funds close to £2m for start-up companies in the last 2yrs and has recently been involved in a £23m structured finance deal for a New York based property company. Past and present projects include starting television production companies, ethnic restaurants, professional services firms, care homes and bakeries.

Richard is an Associate and Chartered Insurance Practitioner of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Accredited by Business Link and SFEDI and holds an MBA from Durham Business School.
