Jonathan Gosier is an influential designer, software developer and writer best known for his work in East Africa as the founder of the software firm Appfrica Lab. He’s been a founder and technical leader of many startups including LocaleMotive, QuestionBox and SwiftRiver, which offers open source tools for managing large amounts of real-time data using natural language processing and veracity algorithms.

As a Designer, Jon’s become well known for his various data-visualization projects. In 2009 he gave a TED talk entitled "What the World Wants to Know" where he displayed a real-time feed of questions people in the most remote, unconnected parts of Africa, as they were being asked via hotline. His infographics are also very well known, and he consults organizations on unique ways to make boring datasets more visually appealing.
