Wilfrid Kintonouza is currently CEO of Nushores LLC a TurnAround Management firm focused on acquisition, financing and equity
investment in SMEs (Small to Medium size Enterprises) in West Africa. He is passionate about contributing to create business
opportunities and getting involved in social enterprise in Africa.
Wilfrid has over two decade of expertise and leadership experience in the wireless industry in both startup and well established
firms on several continents.
For over 6 years, till late 2009 Wilfrid was both the CEO and CTO of Bell Benin Communications, a GSM Service provider in Benin
(West Africa),that he helped turnaround by restructuring it operations and business strategy. He lead Bell Benin from last position
(4th operator) in a very competitive market, to the number two position with a market share of 32%, with a 28000% increase in revenue
over a 4 years period (from 300k to over 84 million) and an EBITDA average of 52%.
Bell Benin was most innovative, the first provider to offer advanced features such GPRS EDGE with mobile Internet and Email Access,
Electronic Recharge (credit top-up), Color Ring Services: Musical tone for the caller, etc.
Previously, Wilfrid was Executive Director of interWAVE Communications (Menlo Park & Mountain View), a silicon valley Wireless
Telecommunications company, where he oversaw the company Network Engineering, Technical Support and New Product Introduction with
various customers and partners such as France Telecom (CNET and Itineris), T-Mobile in Germany, BTCellnet in England, Microcell
in Canada, Nortel in Richardson and Paris, Alcatel in Paris.
Prior to and after leaving interWAVE, Wilfrid as a consultant worked as a project leader on various GSM networks deployments and
launch: Congolese Wireless (now Vodacom Congo), ETISALAT in the UAE, TELSTRA in Australia, TAC in Thailand, Hutchison Telecom in
Hong Kong and Sri Lanka, SANATEL in Iraq etc
Wilfrid started his career in the Wireless Industry as an R&D Engineer with Alcatel Mobile Communications in Paris.
Wilfrid holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, a BSc in Comptuter Science from the University of
Newcastle, Australia and is nearing completion of a graduate program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Business,
Northwestern University.
